Appellate Law Symposium Slated for Grundy

The third in a statewide series of appellate practice symposia will be held Oct. 27, at the Appalachian School of Law in Grundy.
The event is open to all Virginia lawyers, but will be limited to the first 25 registrants. Admission is free for Virginia State Bar members.
The program will be presented by L. Steven Emmert, Chairman of the Appellate Practice Subcommittee for the Virginia State Bar’s Litigation Section, and Greg Lucyk, Chief Staff Attorney for the Virginia Supreme Court. It will cover two topics in detail: “Handling Your First Appeal (or Your First Appeal in a While)” and “Appellate Briefwriting.”
The symposium is expected to be approved for 3.5 hours of CLE credit, and will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. To register, contact Cathryn Chitty at (757) 499-8971 by October 24.
